POLLING AT VENUES HAS GOT TO STOP!
Read this excellent piece from the City Paper on the practice of venue polling:
a fairly common practice by which venues ask patrons what act they’ve come to see and sometimes use that data to determine payouts at the end of the night.
Also read this post by Head-Roc that explains the impact polling has had on the scene.
DC Musicians and Fans need to unite to put a stop to this practice which depresses wages for performing artists!
