  1. D.C. Flag Tattoo?? (All over D.C.)

Do you have a D.C. flag tattoo? If so, do you have any interest in partipating in a photo shoot with others who have one? The Our City Film Festival, a festival devoted to screening D.C. focused films, is looking for tattood D.C. enthusiasts for a photo shoot for a poster for the festival. Please contact us at Kendra@yachad-dc.org and check out our site at http://www.yachad-dc.org/OurCityFilmFestival.shtml.

What percentage of people with DC flag tatoos are from DC originally, or for that matter have even lived here for more than 18 months when they got the tat? I’m not trying to hate, I’m just saying its a bit odd.

I was born and raised in D.C. and have the flag on my wrist

Born and raised on capitol hill. have one on my arm and am damn proud of it. I’m with you on the people who haven’t been here long or grew up in “dc” (actually bethesda or bs like that), but for those of us that do, stay proud.

I wasn’t born in DC, but after almost a decade in the military not having a place that was really my own (city, community etc) I settled in the District and took such a shine to my first permanent home that I felt the desire to show my gratitude in ink. I have been here for over 18 months though, and have no plans on ever leaving.

I don’t understand the desire for your tattoos, What’s so great about D.C. for you?

The gov’t is corrupt and you’re living in it’s federal city, both the local/fed. gov are a colossal failure.

    The culture is interesting though

  7. 7 eve

it’s something nova residents don’t know anything about. it’s called “community.”

My god, you guys are the most pretentious group of tourist-loathing locals I’ve ever seen. A tattoo? Fine. Being a bitch because some people were not born in DC? Fucking ridiculous. But it’s funny to watch you all, with your blind nationalist pride and delusions of importance.

Its not tourist loathing, its pride. Don’t knock someone because they are proud of where they are from. In a city full of transplants and people who are here only as long as the term of their boss allows them, it is nice to band together with other people who have been here for the long hall. So if you are going to rant against people, do it against people who hit kids or conduct hate crime, not people who show pride in their city.

  9. that’s a temporary tattoo of the D.C. metro, right?

    • 11 ChellBellz

LMAO, It should be Temp…Hope she doesn’t get Preggoooo. Going to look like NY’s metro after that.

  10. 12 sticks

Lived here my entire life, still live here. Mine is on my calf.

i’m a transplant from somewhere else but i love it here and made dc my home. piss off anyone that doesnt think i “deserve” one. stupid asses. love is love.

I came across this site because I’m probably going to get a tattoo soon. I was born in South Carolina but given that I’ve been here the last 17-18 years of my 20, I’m D.C. through and through. It’s great to know that I won’t be alone in my D.C. flag tattooedness (and yes I made that word up, so what). Lol.
