As Chief Financial Officer for the DC Government, Natwar M. Gandhi has taken the credit for restoring the city’s financial credibility. As CFO, he also needs to take responsibility (by resigning) for the massive tax fraud ($20 million and counting) perpetrated under his stewardship at the office of Tax and Revenue by two mid-level managers.

Now, the Washington Post is reporting that under Gandhi “the agency issued 15 property tax refund checks worth $2.46 million without required court orders and sometimes to companies that did not exist.”

It is clear that during Mr. Gandhi’s tenure with the DC Government he has indeed been asleep at the wheel.

Call the Mayor’s office at: (202) 727-1000 - Gandhi has got to go! It is time to restore the public’s trust in the finances of the DC Government.

UPSET THE SETUP!

Update 11/21 - Jim Graham emailed me back letting me know about the probe that the City Council has launched into Gandhi’s management. You gotta love it: Council member Kwame R. Brown (D-At Large) said simply, “Gandhi has got to go.”  Way to pick up the talking points Kwame.
