Peace Family: In support of the ongoing investigation at Maryland and the convergence of justice supporters in Jena Louisiana, the Nyumburu Cultural Center in conjunction with: Jared Ball of Free Mix Radio and WPFW-Jazz and Justice, Head Roc, Bomani Armah, and several other DC artists and activists will be coordinating a solidarity performance at:

Nyumburu’s monthly Juke Joint to be held Thursday, September 20th, in the Hoff Theater of the Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland, College Park. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Open Mic Sign up will start at 7:00 pm in the Nyumburu Cultural Center and show will start at 8:00 pm in the Hoff Theater.

Juke Joint will still inlcude an open mic, students are asked to bring poems/lyrics themed around the Jena 6 or the noose outside Nyumburu. We would like this night to be about raising awareness and developing stronger alliances. Edutainment is the charge of the night!!! We look forward to seeing you there!
